BBC EastEnders' Natalie Cassidy regrets four stone weight loss after being offered 'loads of money'

EastEnders actress Natalie Cassidy appeared on Thursday's This Morning to talk about her popular podcast Life With Nat.

The soap legend, 40, who has played Sonia Fowler since 1993, has been giving fans an insight into her life away from Albert Square on the podcast, which was recently the number one podcast on Spotify.

During her chat on This Morning, Natalie opened up about the time she was offered "a load of money" to lose weight, sharing her regrets over the deal.

Natalie released two weight-loss DVDs back in the day - Natalie Cassidy's Then and Now in 2007 and The Perfect Ten - but later branded them a "mistake". The soap star recently admitted she regrets signing up to the £100,000 DVD deal, despite the bumper pay cheque.

Opening up on Thursday's This Morning, host Ben Shephard said about Natalie being open on her podcast: "You were talking about your weight loss video, that you were doing as well, and talking about the pressure you were feeling when you had that gig, that job."

To which Natalie admitted: "Well, it's my own fault. They offered me a load of money to lose weight and I did it at the time but actually, looking back, it is something I wouldn't do now" to which Ben pointed out that at the time she was "contractually" obliged to do it and keep it off with Natalie adding: "I didn't keep it off, I put another four stone on!"

It comes as Natalie previously spoke on the Comfort Eating with Grace Dent podcast in August 2022, the actress said: "I was very overweight and they approached me and said 'Listen, we're going to give you £100,000, we're going to get you really fit and you're going to lose four stone'.

"I was like happy days, let's go for it. I just thought, that's a lot of money; but it wasn't the right thing to do. It wasn't - you are losing a lot of weight in a three or four-month period, twelve or sixteen weeks, low calories and training every day. I got there, and as soon as that DVD came out, I ate for England. I put all the weight back on in eight weeks."

This Morning continues on weekdays at 10am on ITV and ITVX. *Follow Mirror Celebs and TV on Snapchat , Instagram , Twitter , Facebook ,
