'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chasmah' star Gurucharan Singh has been missing for 4 days

A TV star has gone missing and the police are yet to trace him. Gurucharan Singh, best known for playing the fun-loving mechanical engineer Sodhi in the iconic sitcom ‘ Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chasmah’, is reportedly missing for over four days.

According to a Times Of India report, the actor went missing from the Delhi airport.

He was travelling to Mumbai. However, he didn't reach his destination, but neither did he return home. His father Harjit Singh has lodged a complaint with the police.

The FIR read, “My son Gurucharan Singh, Age: 50 years, had left at 8:30 am on 22nd April to go to Mumbai. He went to the airport to catch a flight. He didn't reach Mumbai, neither has he returned home and his phone is not reachable. He is mentally stable and we had been searching for him but now he has been missing.”


Who Is Gurucharan Singh?

Singh is best known for his role as Roshan Singh Harjeet Singh Sodhi, a jovial, happy-go-lucky mechanical engineer, who loves his wife and is also addicted to partying and drinking, in the superhit comedy TV series ‘Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chasma’. Despite gaining appreciation for his comic timing, he decided to leave the show citing personal setbacks.

The sitcom is one of the longest-running and most successful TV shows in India. It aired in 2008 and has been going rock-steady. The show is based on the satirical weekly column named ‘Duniya Ne Undha Chasma’ by Tarak Mehta in 'Chitralekha' magazine.

The much-beloved show gained some notoriety when actress Jennifer Mistry leveled allegations of sexual harassment against show producer Asit Modi, resulting in an FIR filed against him last year. Jennifer claimed multiple instances where Asit allegedly attempted to flirt and made unwelcome sexual advances towards her. Recently, the verdict favored Jennifer, with Asit being directed to settle her pending dues and compensate her with Rs 5 lakh.
