Nineties pop star welcomes baby boy with his wife and reveals his unique name

Nineties pop star Ben Adams is a dad again after he showed off his adorable son Storm to the world.

The 42-year-old singer, loved by music fans after his chart-topping success with pop group A1, shared the happy news as he took to social media to introduce the new arrival alongside heartwarming photos.

Ben and his wife Sara Skjoldnes, already parents to cute daughter Skylar who was born in 2021, looked madly in love with their beautiful baby as they beamed in the snaps.

In his Instagram caption, Ben wrote: "Here he is!" The musician continued: "Storm Skjoldnes Adams born on 23/04/24 at 13.17 weighing 9 pounds/4.1 kilos. BIRTH IS NO JOKE! Tears, sweat, exhaustion, bravery… but thankfully I managed to get through it and am recovering well. Thanks for asking (@saraskjoldnes_adams did ok too). Let’s go home!"

Posting news of their expanding family last year, Ben wrote on Instagram that they're about to welcome one more to the clan: He posted that their daughter was a little confused and teased: "We decided we’ve had too much sleep this year…….And Skylar seems pleased to welcome a ‘dinosaur’ into the family."

Sara posted a photo of her showcasing her blossoming baby bump with a similar message, writing: "We've got a busy year ahead it seems. However, Skylar is excited to welcome a dinosaur into our family apparently." The happy news comes after Ben and Sara finally tied the knot in 2022 after dating for 12 years. The pair kept their nuptials a secret, with the news of their marriage later announced on A1's Facebook page.

"Congratulations to the newlyweds, our dear Ben Adams and Sara Skjoldnes. May the years ahead be filled with love and joy. xxx your A1 family," the sweet post read. A1 was made up of Ben, Paul Marazzi, Christian Ingebrigtsen and Mark Read. In 2002 Paul left the group, citing "personal reasons" and the group subsequently split up.

OK! Magazine reports that while Ben rose to fame as part of A1, achieving chart success with hits like Same Old Brand New You and a cover of Take On Me by A-ha, he also made headlines with his appearance on Celebrity Big Brother in 2009, where he finished in fifth place, with Ulrika Jonsson winning the series.

In 2012, he also took part in Skal Vi Danse – the Norwegian version of Strictly, where he came second. A1 reunited in 2009 to represent Norway in the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest and went on to produce two more studio albums, before embarking on an international tour in 2018 to mark their 20th anniversary. Ben competed in the Eurovision Song Contest again in 2022 as part of pop band Subwoofer with Gaute Ormåsen. The pair represented Norway in the annual competition and placed 10th.
