10 workers injured in gas cylinder blast at Muzaffarnagar factory

MUZAFFARNAGAR: Ten persons sustained burns of varying degree after a gas cylinder explosion inside a factory located in Muzaffarnagar’s Nai Mandi on Wednesday. The factory repairs domestic gas cylinders.

Sources said the blast occurred when workers were trying to repair an old gas cylinder. The factory’s management and other workers rushed to the factory and took the injured to a district hospital.



The critically injured, seven of them, were referred to a Meerut health centre, according to police sources.

DSP Yogendra Singh said, “The factory repairs old domestic cylinders. We are investigating the reason behind the blast. A probe is currently on.”

An internal inquiry has also been ordered to find out the reason behind the explosion, said a source.
