10-year-old boy found hanging from tree in Shahjahanpur

BAREILLY: A 10-year-old school boy was found hanging from a tree on Thursday. The incident took place at a village of Banda block in Shahjahanpur district . The victim’s parents alleged that their son was murdered and later hanged from a tree.


Police sent the boy’s body for autopsy and the report confirmed that the victim was beaten and murdered.

An FIR has been registered under IPC section 302 (murder) against unidentified killer on the complaint of boy’s father Rajesh Kumar. The police are investigating the case.

Amarjeet Singh was a resident of Mudiya Chaavan village under Banda police station. He was a Class IV student and went missing after going to attend a ‘jagran’ (religious programme) on Wednesday night. On Thursday morning, locals found his body hanging from the tree.

SSP Shahjahanpur S Chinnapa, on receiving information, visited the village and met the aggrieved family. He assured the family members that the killer will be identified and arrested soon.

Chinnapa told TOI, “A 10-year-old boy’s body was recovered from a village. Prima facie it looks like murder. And we have registered an FIR against unidentified accused.”
