104.65 kg of cannabis seized: Lakhimpur Police

LAKHIMPUR: The Lakhimpur Police Department has proceeded with its activity against Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) in the area.

A group of police, driven by Additional Superintendent of Police (Headquarter) Pranab Kumar Pegu, DSP (Border) Faruk Ahmed, OC of Boginadi Police Station, Priyabrat Gogoi and SI Diganta Saloi captured Sarat Dutta (31) and Rajesh Mundra (24) and held onto four sacks of cannabis weighing around 104.65 kg, by propelling an activity at Kadam Tenga Basti on Saturday night.

The group of police recuperated and held onto one Suzuki Celerio vehicle bearing enlistment number AS 07M 9661 and three cell phones with SIM cards from the captured people. Then again, a group of police, driven by DSP Runa Neog, recouped 26.68 gram of heroin at Banderdewa from a lady on Sunday evening.
