11 women rescued from seven brothels in Agra

Agra: Eleven women hailing from Assam, West Bengal, Assam and Uttar Pradesh were rescued from brothels here in the city.

According to sources, local police along with a Allahabad-based NGO conducted a raid on seven brothels here on Friday and rescued the women who were pushed into the flesh trade. Police also arrested 21 women who are allegedly running the business along with 11 men.



Abdul Qadir, circle officer of Kotwali, said, “All the 11 men and 21 women involved in the flesh trade were booked under Immoral Traffic Prevention Act and sent to jail. The rescued 11 women have been sent women rehabilitation centre, from where they would be sent back to their homes.”
