16-year-old arrested in Etah for raping minor

AGRA: A teenager was arrested by Etah police for allegedly raping a seven-year-old girl.


According to the police, the 16-year-old lured the victim with chocolate and took her to a secluded place on Tuesday night and raped her. The incident took place in Aaspur village under Malawan police jurisdiction.



Speaking to TOI, Vipin Kumar Tyagi, SHO of Malawan, said, “The victim was on her way to a farm field to relieve herself, when the accused came across her. After offering her chocolate, the accused took the victim to a nearby field, gagged her mouth with a piece of cloth and sexually assaulted her.”

“The victim suffered serious abdomen injuries. After she narrated the entire ordeal to her parents, she was taken to Aligarh government hospital after being referred by the local community health centre,” said officer Tyagi.

Based on a written complaint by the victim’s parents, the 16-year-old teen was booked under IPC section 376 (rape) and POCSO Act.

On Wednesday morning, at around 5.45am, police apprehended the accused teen from GT road near Badan Singh College while he was trying to escape.

SHO Malawan said, “The accused teen confessed to his crime and was presented at the court. He was later sent to the juvenile detention centre.”
