2 get life term for Naina abduction & murder case

Jaipur: The district and sessions court on Tuesday sentenced two persons to life in jail for abducting and murdering a seven-year-old girl, a resident of Sodala, in 2012.

Twenty-one-year-old Nishant Sain, a resident of Mahesh Nagar, and 25-year-old Gaurav Chhipa murdered Naina Sain, whose body was found floating in a well, seven days after she went missing from her house in Devi Nagar near New Sanganer Road.

Sain and Chhipa were convicted under Sections 120B (criminal conspiracy), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence), 302 (murder) and 364 (abduction with the intent to murder) of IPC.

After she went missing, her relatives printed pamphlets and distributed among people and even announced a reward for information about their daughter. But, police found her body floating in a well.

On December 4, 2012, Naina’s grandfather Rajendra Kumar Sain filed a missing complaint at Shyam Nagar police station mentioning that they searched for Naina in their relatives’ houses, but all efforts went in vain. He suspected that his grand-daughter had been abducted.

However, the court observed that the case is not rarest of the rare and in such cases, death penalty cannot be justified.

Naina, the daughter of Ravi Sain of Faraspura village in Karauli district, was staying with her maternal grandfather in Jaipur's Devinagar area since she was about two years old.
