2 guards deployed at firm steal spare parts

Greater Noida: Two security guards deployed at a mobile phone manufacturing company in Surajpur were arrested early on Friday for allegedly stealing a bag full of spare parts from the warehouse on Tuesday night. Their third accomplice is still absconding, said police.

Both the arrested security guards - Mukesh Kumar, a resident of Tappal in Aligarh and Krishnapal from Sahaswan in Badaun - were employed by a private security agency and were deployed at the factory from the past few months, said police.

Following the theft, the company’s manager filed a complaint against the two and handed over the CCTV footage of the theft to the police.

On Thursday night, police received a tip off about the duo’s movement near Durga roundabout and arrested them with the stolen goods. “They revealed that they had one more accomplice Harishankar, a resident of Barabanki, who assisted them in the theft,” said Ranvijay Singh, SP (rural), adding that they have got leads on his whereabouts and will nab him soon.

Police said that the guards stole 308 displays worth Rs 6,000 each from the factory out of which eight have been recovered while the rest are still with Harishankar.

They were produced in a city court on Friday that sent them to jail.
