2 held in prostitution racket in Colva

Colva: The police raided a massage parlour in Colva and rescued two girls between 27 and 25 years of age who were forced into prostitution . The parlour owner, Ramesh Upadhya, from Mumbai and his 24-year-old partner Jinita Nayak from Odisha were arrested.

Colva PI Rahul Parab said that based on a tip-off that Ramesh was soliciting customers for prostitution near an ice-cream parlour in Colva, the police sent a decoy customer.



After striking a deal, the accused took the police decoy for sexual activities at Glamour massage parlour in Colva. The police swooped down and the victim girls from Odisha were rescued.

The team was led by LPSI Sapana Gawas, constables Ajay Naik, Vikas Kaushik, lady constable Anjali Pandit, Deepaswi Malik, under the supervision of PI Rahul Parab.

The accused have been arrested under Section 370 IPC (trafficking for the purpose of prostitution) and under Section 4,5,7 of the Immoral Trafficking (prevention) Act.
