2 killed after bike hits cattle in Bundi

KOTA: Two motorbike-borne youths were late on Saturday night killed on the spot on Kota-Lalsot mega highway near Balapura village under Kapran police station of Bundi district , after a stray cattle suddenly emerged on the highway, hitting the passing bike and causing fatal head injuries to the duo.


The two deceased persons were identified as Pappulal Meena, 40, a resident of Balod village and Rakesh Meena, 22 a resident of Aajnda village, said SHO at Kapren police station.

The due on a motorbike were returning to their respective homes on Saturday around 8pm, when a stray cattle (according to eye witnesses on the highway, it was a cow) suddenly appeared on the highway near Balapura village and hit the passing motorbike, causing fatal head injuries to the bike-borne youths and killing them on the spot, the SHO said.

“If the youths were wearing helmets, they could have survived,” the officer added. The youths were rushed to government hospital in Kapren where the doctor declared them dead, the SHO said. The bodies were on Sunday handed over to the families after postmortem, he added.
