2 thefts rock Salem Tabri

Ludhiana: Two thefts were reported in Salem Tabri on Tuesday.

Burglars first struck at a chemical factory and then at a dental clinic near Salem Tabri police station.

Ramesh Verma, the owner of the chemical factory, said in his police complaint, “When I opened the unit around 9.30am, I found it ransacked.

The CCTV camera installed in the factory has captured a man jumping into its premises from a tree. The thief took away my laptop worth Rs 70,000.”

The dental clinic owner, Dr Aman Goya, told the police, “I had locked my clinic around 9.30pm on Monday. When I opened it the next day around 8.30am, I found Rs 25,000, three cellphones, a hard disc and an internet dongle missing. The thief gained entry from the rooftop as the clinic was locked from outside.”

Salem Tabri police station SHO inspector Vijay Kumar said, “The factory CCTV has captured a thief, but the footage is not clear. Both thefts seem to be the handiwork of the same man.”

A case has been registered.
