2 youths get HC relief in suicide abetment case

Aurangabad: The Aurangabad bench of Bombay high court recently quashed and set aside an FIR lodged against two youths from Hingoli who were accused of abetting the suicide of an 18-year-old boy by allegedly beating and humiliating him for having an affair with their sister.

The crime was registered against Rahul Khandare (20) and Sumedh Khandare (20) following a complaint lodged by deceased’s father Sakharam Jadhav.

The deceased Kishor was a resident of Jawla Khandarbhan in Basmat taluka of Hingoli district.

On November 25,2018, Kishor complained of uneasiness and was taken to a dispensary where the doctors declared him brought dead. His body was buried on that day itself. Later, when Sakharam was going through his son’s belongings he found two chits in his son’s mobile where he had mentioned about his affair with a girl and the thrashing he got from the suspects.

The suspect duo had even recorded the entire incident on a mobile phone. Following this recovery, Jadhav approached police who booked the two under sections 306 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code.
