2.0 actor marks himself safe as flood ravages Assam

The state of Assam is facing a worst flood – close to four lakh people have been affected and six districts are reportedly devastated. From common people to celebrities, many are posting photos and videos on social media to draw the attention of media across the world. Popular Bollywood actor Adil Hussain also took to his Twitter account to let the world know about the crisis the state is facing.

His native place Goalpara has been terribly affected, and he feels bad that no initiatives are being taken to stop exploiting nature. He posted, “Again.. Here it is, the flood waters are submerging parts #Assam, my district #Goalpara is badly hit. Still no initiatives are taken to stop deforestation, last remaining #Evergreen #forest #dihingpatkai is next, to be slaughtered, tipping the ecological balance.”

He added that though his place is badly hit, “God's grace our home and family are still safe. Hope it remains that way.” In another tweet, he pleaded his followers to sign a petition against coal mining which has posed threat to Dehing Patkai forest and elephant reserve. The actor, who has acted in several languages, made his debut in Vishnuvardhan ’s Yatchan in Tamil, and was last seen in Shankar ’s magnum opus, 2.0 , starring Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead.
