21 tuk-tuk drivers fined by Firozabad traffic police for playing loud music

AGRA: At least 21 tuk-tuk drivers were fined for playing loud music on the roads and their music system confiscated by Firozabad traffic police for causing inconvenience and nuisance to passengers and other commuters on Wednesday.

The latest challan was part of Firozabad traffic police’s day-long campaign against such three-wheelers.

The tuk-tuk drivers were fined by traffic police at Dumari intersection on NH-2.

Speaking to TOI on Wednesday, traffic inspector Neeraj Mishra of Firozabad said, “The loud music not only makes passengers uncomfortable, but the tuk-tuk drivers don’t pay much heed to vehicles, particularly the ones honking from behind.”

“The drivers were booked under the 179 of MV Act and challaned. They have to pay a fine of Rs 1,000 each,” he added.

Playing loud music in tuk-tuk is a regular nuisance in Mathura , Agra, Firozabad, Etah and Aligarh districts. This was the first such case where action was taken against drivers in Agra zone.
