236 returnee migrants complete quarantine in Odisha's Ganjam

Ganjam: Even as the highest number of COVID-19 cases have been reported in Ganjam district, a total 236 returnee migrants completed 21-day stay at the institutional quarantine centres in the district today in the first phase and returned home.

As per reports, 118 returnee migrants completed the quarantine at Sheragada Adarsh Vidyalaya while 112 inmates at a centre at Dharakote Adarsh Vidyalaya and six kept at Rangeilunda School completed the quarantine period.

Official sources said the returnee migrants came to the district during the lockdown and were in the quarantine as per the State government’s guidelines on COVID-19.

District Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange talked to the migrants at the quarantine centres and assured help to get employment in the district.

So far, a total of 313 persons tested positive for COVID-19. Out of them, 132 have cured from the disease. While the number of active cases in the district is at 179 till yet, two died of the disease.
