Bhubaneswar: Two days after the Odisha BJP held a press conference on an intelligence report on Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s candidature from Hinjili Assembly segment, the Commissionerate Police today served a notice to three BJP senior leaders directing them to depose before Kharavel Nagar police tomorrow.

The Commissionerate Police issued the notice to BJP State Vice-President Sameer Mohanty, Spokesperson Golak Mohapatra and Bharatiya Janta Yuva Morcha president Tankadhar Tripathy.

They have been asked to appear at the police station at 10 AM tomorrow.

In reaction, the party Vice-President said the election code of conducted in being openly violated. Police have become a puppet of Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and are just following the orders of the ruling party.”

On March 18, the BJP Yuva Morcha held a pressmeet and cited the Intelligence report claiming that the BJD President chose to contest the Assembly polls from Bijepur as he feared losing from Hinjili.

The advisory printed and stamped under the letterhead of Odisha Police State Intelligence Branch Bhubaneswar suggested the CM to avoid Hinjili and, instead, pick Rourkela, Bijepur, Balangir or Titlagarh as a safe seat for him.

Later, Odisha Police termed the intelligence report cited by the BJP as ‘fake and fabricated’ and registered a case in this connection. The cops yesterday had begun an investigationinto the allegation.
