30 districts submerged due to flood in Assam, 96 animals died

Guwahati: The northeastern state of Assam is the most affected by the floods. So far 79 people have died due to flood in Assam. Many people are trapped in flood affected areas, and the exercise to rescue them to safe place is going on. Not only human life but also human life and animals have been badly affected by this flood.

According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) report, the Brahmaputra river is flowing above the danger mark in many areas. 30 districts of Assam have been affected by floods and more than 54 lakh people are affected. NDRF teams are also continuously conducting rescue operations. 85 percent of the area of Kaziranga National Park in Golaghat has been submerged in the flood waters. Due to this, the existence of protected wild species has come under threat. So far 96 animals have been killed and 132 animals have been resuscitated in Kaziranga National Park.

A number of campaigns are also being carried out to save animals in Assam, but the situation in Assam will take more time to recover. The flood water in Assam has been filled in districts of Hojai, Dhemaji, Lakhimpur, Vishwanath, Sonitpur, Udalguri, Darang, Baksa, Nalbari, Barpeta, Chirang, Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, Dhubri, South Salmada, Goalpara, Kamrup, Morigaon, Kamarup etc.
