RAIPUR: Four persons were arrested for allegedly murdering a youth and conspiring to dispose of his body over a petty issue in Bhilai .

The accused have been identified as Sunny Devar alias Sunny Gopal Yadav (25); Paras Tanti (25); Ajay Kumar Patel (23) - all residents of Khursipar and S Manu (28), a resident of Chandra Shekhar Azad Nagar.

They have been booked under sections 302, 201, 341 of the IPC for killing Pramod Sao alias Kali, said Durg superintendent of police (SP) Prakhar Pandey.

Sao's decomposed body, packed in a plastic bag, was recovered from Teiha Nullah in Somni Khar area of Old Bhilai on July 12 after villagers informed the police. The body was sent for autopsy after performing the inquest. The body was tied up with ropes and there was a deep cut mark on the neck, which was the possible cause of death. Considering it to be a homicide, Old Bhilai Police team, led by Inspector Sanjeev Mishra, went about establishing the identity of the deceased.

Meanwhile, cops learnt that a youth from Baikunthdham was missing. His relatives were contacted and called in for identification of the body. Recognizing the clothes, a tattoo and an armlet, Sao's family members identified him.

After the identification was done, the investigation took a new angle altogether. Sao's friends and relatives were quizzed and soon it was discovered that Sao was last seen in Khursipar near the house of his friend Sunny Devar. Sunny was taken in custody and during interrogation, he confessed to have murdered Sao along with his accomplices. They revealed the lurid details of the alleged murder.

Sao had borrowed Rs3,000 from Sunny's wife and was not returning the money. Whenever Sunny would ask Sao for money, he would argue with him. Finally, Sunny chalked out a conspiracy with Ajay, Paras and S Manu to teach Sao a lesson. They called him at Sunny's home on July 9 and asked him to return the money. When Sao did not return the complete amount, they took him to a lonely place near Khursipar Liquor Shop. Sunny inflicted fatal injuries on Sao's neck and arm with a cutter. When Sao collapsed to the ground, he smashed his head with a heavy stone. They then dumped the Sao's body in a dilapidated building. When they returned to the spot on July 11, they found the body deteriorating. Sensing trouble, they packed the body in a plastic bag and loaded it in the dickey of Ajay's car bearing registration number CG 07- 8954, said SP Pandey.

They then took the body to Somni Khar area and dumped it in the Telha Nullah. They then parked the car at the Power House Railway Station attempting to hide it. Cops have recovered the cutter, the stone (with which Sao was bludgeoned and the vehicle used in the crime, added Pandey.
