6-year-old boy dies in accident on Wani-Pimpalgaon road

Nashik: A six-year-old boy lost his life while 14 others sustained injuries when the pick-up van they were travelling in met with an accident on Wani-Pimpalgaon Road on Monday afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Kishor Waman Pawar. The incident took place at around 4.30pm and Wani police have registered a case of accidental death.

A total of 22 farm workers along with their children had traveled from Chandwad taluka to Pimpalpada village in Dindori taluka on Monday to cast their votes. While returning after exercising their franchise, the driver of the pick-up van lost control of the vehicle that eventually went off the road and fell into a road-side pit.

The injured were rushed to Wani rural hospital for treatment by passerby and condition of those injured is said to be stable.
