850 security personnel deployed in Itanagar

ITANAGAR: Elaborate security measures have been adopted in Arunachal Pradesh ahead of the Independence Day . About 850 security personnel , including state police and other central armed police forces , have been deployed in Itanagar for ensuring fool-proof security to the citizens during the day, Capital SP Tume Amo said.




All the entry points of the state capital and other parts of the state would be monitored and massive round-the-clock checking and frisking of vehicles have started, he said.

He further added that night patrolling is being conducted in all vulnerable places to thwart any untoward incidents during the day. “We are leaving no stone unturned to protect our citizens and for this everything possible is being done,” the SP said. Checking of Inner Line Permit (ILP) has been intensified at all check gates of the state, while checking at various hotels in the capital have been carried out as a preventive measure, Amo said.

On August 15, Chief minister Pema Khandu would unfurl the tricolour at Indira Gandhi Park here, the main venue of the Independence Day celebrations in the state.
