Aapda Sakhi help flood-affected people in Kolhapur




Aapda Sakhi, an all women rescue group from Kolhapur formed by students of junior and senior colleges, are involved in the flood relief work in various parts of the city. Some of the members of the team belong to National Cadet Corps (NCC). Aapda Sakhi members underwent a 15-day long special training in disaster management under the District Disaster Management Authority in helping a recusing the flood affected, and how to rehabilitate them.

They have been trained how to overcome emergencies in a fortnightly camp, how to rescue people safely, and give first aid treatment. All girls who are 'disaster victims' are studying in this college As a member of the NCC, these young women have been dedicated towards the service of the nation and for them helping those affected by flood means serving the country. ice as well as in the social service.
