Abducted by 5 boys en-route tuition, 16-year-old girl raped in Rewari

Gurugram: Rewari police in Haryana on Wednesday arrested four boys in connection with the alleged rape of a 16-year-old girl. While the main accused has also been apprehended, one of his accomplices remains at large. All of the accused have been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

In her statement to police, the minor girl had stated that she was going to her tuition class on Monday evening when five boys abducted her. They gagged and took her to a room along the fringes of the village where the prime accused, identified as Kamal, raped her as the others stood guard.

According to a report, the youths threatened the Class 10 student with dire consequences if she were to report the matter to the police. In the hours following the heinous crime, the girl managed to find her way home and narrated the incident to her parents. The police were alerted and an official complaint filed against the five boys. A medical examination of the minor confirmed signs of sexual assault, prompting the arrests of four out of the five accused.

Those arrested will be produced before a court on Thursday. Meanwhile, a manhunt has been launched for the remaining accused who continues to be on the run. Assistant sub-inspector Gurdayal of Bawal police station while confirming the incident stated that Kamal was the only one who raped the girl while others identified as Hanuman, Narender, Monu and Sanju stood guard outside the room where the crime took place. In August of this year, a similar incident had come to light from Rewari where a 15-year-old boy was accused of and later arrested for raping a three-year-old girl. A police official familiar with the matter had told media outlets that the boy lured the child away to an empty room where he raped her in the Dharuhera area of Rewari. She was playing outside her home when he lured her away, added the official. 

A security guard later found the child lying in a pool of blood and the accused near her. He fled the spot upon seeing the guard who informed the child's parents. A medical examination confirmed rape and a police complaint was filed in this regard.
