Accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000: Hojai BDO Convicted, Gets 4-year imprisonment

 

Guwahati: Based on the grievance held up by Birendra Prasad Mallah, A.P. Individual from Nandapur G.P. under Dholphukhuri Block in regard of the interest of fix cash of Rs. 10,000 by Jayanta Goswami, J.E. Dholpukhuri Development Block, District-Hojai for marking on the bill of development works under PMGSY conspires in Dhalpur Development Block, a case was enrolled to vide ACB PS Case No.

06/2016 U/S 7/13(1)(d)(II)/13(2) PC Act 1988.

Quickly on the quality of this case, a snare was laid on 05/07/2016 at 1.30 pm under the administration of Jitendra Chakraborty, APS, Dy. S.P., V&AC, Assam, Guwahati and the blamed Jayanta Goswami, J.E. Dholpukhuri Development Block, Dist-Hojai was captured in a compromising position while taking kickbacks cash of Rs. 10,000 from the complainant at the previous’ office premises.

The charged was captured and sent to legal authority on 06/07/2016. The case was researched by Haremba Goswami, Inspector of Police, V&AC and charge-sheeted by Abdul Jalil Choudhury, Inspector of Police, V&AC, Assam, on 27/02/2017 vide CS No. 04/2017 dated 27/02/2017. The case was attempted in the Court of Special Judge, Guwahati Spl Case No. 06/2017 and the charged Jayanta Goswami was discovered liable and indicted for the offense U/S 7/13(1)(d)(II)/13(2) PC Act 1988 and condemned to detainment of 4 (four) years and fined Rs. 40,000 by the Special Judge Gautam Baruah vide Judgment request dated 13.09.2019.
