Ajmer: Woman gets blackmailed by fake Facebook account of DGP

AJMER: A fake Facebook account of Rajasthan director general of police Kapil Garg surfaced when a woman from Ajmer on Thursday lodged an FIR at Alwar gate police station, claiming that the person behind the fake account has demanded Rs 50,000 from her and has threatened to frame her in false charges if she didn’t pay.

The accused has been chatting on the internet with the woman for last four months and was threatening her into paying the money. The victim then on Thursday registered a case with the police.

The fake Facebook account has the photo of Rajasthan police and the police headquarters situated in Jaipur. There are two friends visible on the page and some photos. Verifying the FIR and about the case, superintendent of police Kunwar Rashtradeep said that it was found that the Facebook account was a fake one. He said the police are investigating and the accused will be arrested soon. On the request of the victim, her name was not disclosed.
