Aligarh: BJP's former mayor makes youth to do sit-ups publicly

AGRA: BJP’s former Aligarh mayor Shakuntala Bharti made a youth, Mohd Hanish, to do sit-ups publicly for allegedly helping his friend elope with a girl. She also asked Hanish to remove a “Kalawa” from his wrist after knowing his identity.


A video of this incident went viral on Thursday. The incident occurred on May 12 after cops in Kawarsi police station rescued a girl, who had eloped with a youth from another community.

However, three other youths, involved in this case fled and Hanish was nabbed by BJP workers . No case has been registered.
