Aligarh DM directs officials to inspect cattle shelters

Agra: A day after Maharajganj district magistrate and five other officials were suspended for fudging figures and for negligence at a state-run cattle shelter, Aligarh DM on Tuesday directed officials to inspect all cattle shelters in the district to assess their condition.

The DM has also ordered officials to tally the exact numbers of ear tagging against the availability of cattle in the shelter and submit their report.

Talking to TOI, Aligarh DM CB Singh said that no discrepancies have been found in 109 cattle sheds run by the government in the district till now. “A team of doctors was also sent to inspect the condition of cattle at the shelter,” he said, adding that if any anomalies are found in the number of cattle, strict action will be taken against the village head concerned.
