Ambala: Bishnoi aide held in arms recovery case

AMBALA: In connection with a case of arms recovery from a Haryana roadways bus, the crime investigation agency (CIA)-2 of Ambala police on Wednesday arrested Lawrence Bishnoi gang member Shubham Prajapat, a resident of Mugalpura village in Hisar.

On Thursday, he was produced before the court, which sent him on a two-day police remand with CIA-2.

According to the information, on July 5, 2019, a case under Arms Act was registered at Parao police station based on the complaint of Haryana roadways bus conductor Balwinder Singh who stated that an unclaimed bag carrying two country-made muskets, one pistol, nine live rounds and two chilly sprays were recovered from the bus.

During the investigation, police found that the bag belonged to Shubham.

Shubham was arrested by Naraingarh CIA of Ambala police on November 7 in connection with the murder of Mahuwa Kheri village resident Puran Chand, who was shot dead in his house on July 2. During remand, he confessed to murdering Puran along with three accomplices because Puran was to record his statement against one of them as a witness in Randhir Singh murder case of May 2018.

"During interrogation, Shubham said after Puran's murder, the four accused parted their ways. A few days later, Shubham boarded a bus from Patiala towards Sonepat but missed the bus when he went to a washroom. The bus had his bag, which carried his clothes and the arms used in Puran's murder. Shubham's bag reached Ambala Cantonment bus stand and he called the Ambala bus stand in-charge, asking him to keep it safe. However, when the in-charge opened the bag, they found three pistols in it. Shubham then fled from Patiala.," said inspector Narender.
