Ambala resident held with 498 narcotic vials

AMBALA: The Ambala Sadar police arrested an accused after recovering 498 narcotic vials from his possession on Sunday here.


The accused Raj Kumar, 25, a resident of Ambala City, has been booked under section 21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances ( NDPS ) Act at Ambala Sadar police station.



The accused has been presented before the court which sent him on two-day police remand for further investigation on Sunday.

According to the FIR , “Our team was present on patrol near Dharam Kanta on Singhawala village road, when a youth was spotted walking from the village side along with a black bag in his hand. After spotting the police team, the youth dropped the bag on the roadside and attempted to flee the spot but he was held by the on-duty staff. While checking, a total of 498 narcotic vials were recovered from his possession. The seizure included 305 vials of Omgesic 2 ML, 55 of LP Gesic 2 ML, 105 of Rexogesic 2 ML and all are Buprenorphine Injection IP and 33 more injections are without any information of wrappers.”

SHO, sub-inspector (SI) of Ambala Sadar Suresh Kumar said, “On Sunday, the accused Raj Kumar was presented before the court which sent him on two-day police remand for further investigation. We are yet verifying his previous record.”
