Ameet Mirpuri, the sought after interior designer from Visakhapatnam

“A house is much more than just its four walls. How we decorate it is an extension of our personality,” says ace interior designer Ameet Mirpuri who has built an empire extending to Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Siliguri. Ameet has an outstanding knowledge on a variety of styles, aesthetics, techniques that lead him to kickstart his own venture and is currently one of the coveted interior designers of the country. 

A proud owner of Design Studio started in the year 2002, today, Ameet has a team of 26 personnel and has worked upon the designs of various prominent cafes, lounges, hotels, boutiques, spas, and homes, over the years. From the past 14 years, Ameet and his team have worked upon more than 300 projects with 30 plus commercial clients and have won four awards for their excellent body of work.

Ameet Mirpuri's work showcases signature designs that are understated yet sophisticated, straightforward, elegant, functional, fun along with balance, light, space, and color factor into every design, creating a timeless effect. The initial years were a struggle, he says. “We started with very small projects. I have even done just one wall of someone’s living room. But since I liked what I did, the scale of the project never mattered,” he adds. 

Born and raised in Visakhapatnam, Ameet was interested in designing from a young age. After a Bachelors in Business Administration from GITAM University, he moved to Pune to study at Marathwada Mitra Mandal School of Interior Design. After a design internship, he moved back to Visakhapatnam to join his father in interior designing.

Ameet made his debut in the year 2010 when Hotel Novotel’s lead designer backed out at the last moment and he was approached to head the project in Visakhapatnam and ever since then, this supremely talented designer has paved his way to success and how. Reflecting on the cultural heritage of Andhra Pradesh, with a touch of Greek art, Kuteerams is the latest addition at Palm Beach Hotel in Vizag designed by Ameet Mirpuri.

Ameet understood the real ball game after entering the Hyderabad market where the small town tag made it difficult for him to gain trust from high-end clientèle.
