Amravati girl bags gold medal in value education exam

PUNE: The result of state level certificate examination on value based universal education and personality development which was organised by World Peace Center (Alandi), MAEER's MIT . Shruti Kavitkar from Amravati stood first in the state while Apurva Bire stood second and Sneha Ombse , third, a statement issued by MIT said.




The winners were felicitated at MIT, Pune at the hands of Dr. Pramod Yewale , vice-chancellor, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad and Shripal Sabnis, former president, Marathi Sahitya Sammelan. Vishwanath D. Karad, president, World Peace Center (Alandi), MAEER's MIT presided over the ceremony.

This examination was conducted for the students of standard 9th, 10th and 11th. The result of this examination was declared recently and over 2000 students from the state appeared for it. The main purpose of this examination was to create interest about Indian culture, philosophy and identity of the country among school-going students. It also aimed to impart value based education, to let them know the history of India, the basic principles of all the religions in the world and world peace.

Sabnis said in the statement that, "Along with formal education, we should also aim at providing value based education to the coming generations. This exam is aimed at the goal of bypassing the barriers of caste, creed and religion and focuses on the good values needed for life."

He further added, "The syllabus and structure of these exams cover culture, education, science, spirituality, values, world peace and also thoughts propagated by great saints thus it creates an all rounder student who is tomorrow going to lead the society."

The students received cash prize of Rs. 11,000, gold medal, memento and certificate. Second ranker got cash prize Rs. 9000, silver medal and memento and the third ranker was given cash prize Rs. 7,000, bronze medal and certificate.
