Andhra Pradesh: 40-year-old man kills wife in Chittoor district

Tirupati: A 40-year-old man murdered his wife by hitting her head at their residence situated beside NJR school, in Seshmahal street in Madanapalli town of Chittoor district on a late Friday night. The accused was identified as Thettu Anand, who fled the spot after murdering his wife, Thettu Sivamma (34).

According to circle inspector Thameem Ahmed, Anand and Sivamma were married for 18 years and were living at Seshmahal street along with their daughter and son.



“According to the complaint lodged by their daughter, Anand was addicted to bad vices and used to abuse the deceased for money. He also suspected her fidelity frequently quarrelled with her whenever he came home in an inebriated condition. On Friday night, the couple had yet another round of altercation and in a fit of rage, Anand smashed his wife’s head against the floor of the house and later slit her throat, killing her on the spot”, said the police inspector.

When family members noticed Sivamma lying dead in a pool of blood, they alerted the police who reached there and inspected the crime scene.

Cops have shifted the body to a government hospital for autopsy and have registered a case. A hunt for the accused has been laid. TNN
