Andhra Pradesh: Several injured as two groups clash over land dispute in Kurnool district

TIRUPATI: At least 20 people were injured after the followers of the ruling party legislator YSRC MLA Y Balanagi Reddy and former TDP MLA P Thikka Reddy clashed over a land dispute at Hanumapuram village in Andhra Pradesh 's Kurnool district on Friday.

According to information, tension prevailed at Hanumapuram village in Peddakadubur mandal, after the

the groups attacked each other with sharp weapons and sticks.

Police sources said the scuffle broke out between the two groups over land disputes. The local cops had to resort to lathicharge to disperse the warring groups.

Twenty people, who sustained injuries, were rushed to the government hospital at Yemmiganur.

Police arrested nearly 20 people from each group involved in the clash that sparked off tension in the region on Friday.
