Another mob lynching in Jharkhand, family of deceased jammed national highway

Koderma: In Koderma district of Jharkhand, on Sunday, people staged a massive protest after a man was beaten to death by a mob on suspicion of child theft. Traffic on the Ranchi-Patna National Highway came to a standstill for several hours due to the protests. In Koderma district, the family of the mob lynching victim and others blocked the Ranchi-Patna National Highway demanding the arrest of the accused.

The National Highway could be opened after senior police officers arrived on the spot and gave the orders. The senior officer assured the protesters to take action against the accused. Hundreds of vehicles were stranded for hours as the highway was closed. On suspicion of child theft, a mob of Sunil Kumar Yadav was beaten up fiercely. He died during treatment in the hospital on Saturday.

Yadav, a resident of Hazaribagh district, was a labourer and went to Koderma for work. His brother Dilip Kumar lodged an FIR and blamed three railway officials for the death of his brother. In the railway colony, a mob of people caught Yadav on suspicion of stealing the child and beat him up badly.
