Another sex racket busted in Calangute
CALANGUTE: Four pimps were arrested and six women were rescued after the Calangute police busted a sex racket in the early hours of Saturday.
The police said they received information about the sex racket and conducted a raid at Saunta Vaddo, Calangute, where the women were to be solicited to ‘decoy customers’.
When the pimps arrived with the women in two cars, the pimps were caught by the police team.
The police also raided a location in Porvorim since they had information that the main operators of the racket were located there.
The arrested pimps are Manoranjan Rao, 32, a native of Mangalore, and Jitendra Singh, 25, Vijay Sonkar, 36, and Khemathraj Mehr, 25 - all natives of Delhi.
The four accused have been remanded to five days police custody. Two cars, four mobiles and Rs 1.95 lakh in cash was also seized from their possession.
