Anti-social elements vandalise Idgah wall, trigger tension

Agra: Some unidentified anti-social elements allegedly vandalised a wall of an Idgah in a remote village of Firozabad district on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday triggering tension during the ongoing festival season.

The incident occurred in Sikandarpur road-based Paadam village under Jasrana police jurisdiction.

After the incident, local administration, including SDM Jasrana and heavy police force lead by CO and SHO, rushed to the village to bring the situation under control. The administration took prompt action and restored the vandalised wall within few hours.

Pradhan pati of Paadam village, Shailender Pratap Singh said, “It seems that the accused just wanted to trigger tension in the village which has mixed population. The Idgah wall was found vandalised on Thursday morning after which the local police and administration was alerted.”

Circle officer of Jasrana, Om Prakash Singh said, “Law and order situation of the village is under control now. After an interaction between the police and villagers, the damaged wall of Idgah was restored to bring normalcy in the area.”

“Investigation is on in the matter. Police is trying to identify the accused,” said CO.
