AP reports 9,276 Covid-19 cases as tally rises to 1.5 lakh

VISAKHAPATNAM: Andhra Pradesh reported 9,276 Covid-19 cases on Saturday as the cumulative tally breached the 1.5 lakh mark. The total number of positive cases in the state now stand at 1,50,209.


The state witnessed a record 12,750 recoveries, the highest ever discharges in a single day, on Saturday.

The Covid-19 toll rose to 1,407 with 58 more casualties registered on Saturday. There are currently 72,188 active cases with the 76,614 recoveries and 1,407 deaths. The state conducted 60,797 tests and detected 9,276 infections. AP also crossed the 20 lakh Covid-19 testing milestone on Saturday, with an overall positivity rate of 7.46%.

Of the 58 deaths, eight each are from East Godavari and Visakhapatnam, seven from Guntur, six each from Anantapur, Chittoor and Kurnool, four from Srikakulam, three each from Krishna and West Godavari, two each from Nellore, Prakasam and Vizianagaram, and one from Kadapa. Kurnool has become the first district in the state to cross the 200 Covid-19 death mark on Saturday.
