Appointment of new Chief Justice in High Court of these seven states

New Delhi: The Law Ministry, taking a big decision, appointed new Chief Justices in seven high courts of the country. Justice Ravi Shankar Jha, Chief Justice of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh, has been made the Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court. Similarly, Judge High Court of Allahabad High Court Ajay Lamba has been appointed as Chief Justice of the Guwahati High Court.

Bombay High Court Judge Justice Indrajit Mohanty has been made the Chief Justice of Rajasthan. Manikumar, the judge of the Madras High Court, has been made the Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court.

Similarly, Justice LN Swami, Judge of Karnataka High Court, was made Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court. JK Maheshwari, the judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, was made the Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court. In the Guwahati High Court, Judge Justice AK Goswami was made the judge of Sikkim High Court. Also, Justices Biswanath Somather, PV Sanjay Kumar and Vivek Agarwal of Calcutta, Telangana and Madhya Pradesh have been appointed in Allahabad, Punjab and Haryana and Allahabad High Court.

Justices V Ramasubramaniam, Krishna Murari, S Ravindra Bhat and Hrishikesh Rai were sworn in as judges of the Supreme Court recently.
