AR Rahman on Boney Kapoor: We can do a movie on him. Exclusive
AR Rahman is an Indian singer who has been working day and night to make his fans fall in love with him. Fans wait desperately for his new songs and compositions because they always connect with the hearts of people. He recently composed the songs for the album of ‘ Maidaan ’ starring Ajay Devgn in the lead. The movie is produced by Indian producer Boney Kapoor .
Working as a team brings in new insights and new thoughts about people. One such moment happened recently when AR Rahman shared his experience of working with Boney Kapoor.
Here is what AR Rahman had to say about working with Boney Kapoor during the album of ‘Maidaan’ starring Ajay Devgn in the lead.
This is not the first time that AR Rahman and Boney Kapoor are collaborating over something. But when asked if AR Rahman saw any changes in Boney Kapoor over the time, he said, “We can do a movie on him. He such an inspiring character. He is a survivor, you know. And I have seen Boney Ji at the height and also at his lowest, but he is a good friend, and he is a very inspiring producer, very gracious”.

AR Rahman further talked about his most favorite memory on working for ‘Maidaan’ with Boney Kapoor. To this he said, “Watching the movie with him and later he came and said that AR you want hair transplant, he was a brand ambassador for hair transplant brand and I said not yet Sir”.
He also talked about Arijit Singh with whom he has collaborated for various songs and the current one being in ‘ Amar Singh Chamkila ’ starring Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra . While sharing his thoughts on him and saying that he has a gifted voice, AR Rahman said, “I think his hard work because he is very open as an artist, and he has got a good, gifted voice. And unlike some previous generations’ musicians, he takes his work very seriously. He can watch every stage performance of us.” When asked about what Rahman’s favourite collaboration with Arijit Singh is, he said, “Tum Saath Ho (from ‘Tamasha’ starring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone). One song from ‘Chamkila’ too that he has sung so that is also the one. Fans will cry.”
