Army canteen to come up at Motihari soon

MUZAFFARPUR: In a big relief to the Army personnel posted in East Champaran and West Champaran districts, the Union ministry for defence has approved establishment of a canteen stores department (CSD) for them at Motihari. The canteen will come up on the premises of Motihari collectorate.

Public relations officer of Army station headquarters at Muzaffarur M K Singh said Army personnel, either serving or superannuated, can avail the CSD facility at Motihari.

“There are more than 10,000 Armymen in different capacities in these two districts. They travel hundreds of kilometres to come to Muzaffarpur to buy goods from CSD. The opening of CSD at Motihari will save time and money for them,” Singh said, adding the CSD at Muzaffarpur is associated with nine districts of north Bihar.

The Bihar Ex-Armymen Association has hailed the decision of the ministry of defence. Chairman of the association Manoj Kumar Thakur said their long-pending demand has finally been fulfilled.
