Arrest Bokaro MLA, else will thrash him in public: JVM-P leader

Bokaro: Two days after the assistant general manager (AGM) of BSL was allegedly thrashed by BJP MLA from Bokaro, Biranchi Narayan, the incident took a political turn with opposition parties demanding his arrest. The district unit of opposition JVM-P has given a 48-hour ultimatum to the police to arrest Narayan, who has been accused of beating BSL AGM Ajit Kumar, on Tuesday.

The party said its leaders with thrash the MLA in public if police failed to arrest him.

Leading a demonstration with his party workers at the City Centre, JVM-P’s central committee member, Prakash Kumar, said, “We will also thrash the MLA in public the way he did to the AGM of BSL if police do not arrest him within 48 hours.” Kumar questioned why the MLA was interested in building a pond and a park on the company’s land without seeking a proper no objection certificate (NOC). “But people know why Narayan is interested in constructing Surya Sarovar and Tiranga Park near his house on BSL’s land. It is a game of commission. Without NOC, how can he allot his MLA-LAD fund of Rs 2 crore for this project? He should have used the fund to resolve water woes in several villages,” he added.

General secretary of the Bokaro isthapit Rayyat Sangh, Bhagwan Prasad, Sahu said, “When displaced people go to the MLA demanding basic amenities, he makes excuses like having no funds or NOC among others. But he is interested in a pond and a park project near his residence on encroached land.” Meanwhile, sources in the BSL management said they have sent a report of the incident to their parent company SAIL, seeking further directives.
