Aunt held for murder of 2-year-old boy

Anger over a feud with her sisterin- law allegedly pushed a woman to kill her toddler nephew by throwing him into the sea. The incident took place in Bhavnagar. Ibrahim Kathiwal lives near Shishu Vihar circle in Bhavnagar with his elder brother. According to police constable Rajpalsinh of Bhavnagar BDivision Police Station, the brothers’ wives had a spat on Thursday.

Angered, the elder brother’s wife Rizwana, 27, picked up Ibrahim’s 2-year-old son Mahmad and left home. PI C H Makwana said that when the parents could not find their son, they approached the police, registered an FIR. At around 10 pm, people near the dargah in Ghogha area spotted something floating on the sea.

On getting closer, they realised it was the body of a child. They informed the police who realised the body was of Mahmad. They found Rizwana near Ghogha bus stand and arrested her for murder. They sent her to Bhavnagar Central Jail.
