Ayodhya temple to host iftar

AYODHYA: In a show of great harmony in Ayodhya , Hindu seers will host an iftar party for rozedars on Monday at the 500-year-old Saryu Kunj temple near the disputed Ram Janmabhoomi site.

The USP of the feast is that no party leader has been invited and it is being organised after all the phases of polling ended to prevent politicisation.

"We are promoting peace and harmony in Ayodhya. Our function is completely apolitical," underlined Mahant Jugal Kishore Sharan Shastry, the chief priest of the temple.

It has been a tradition in this temple town for Hindu seers to invite Muslims for iftar during the month of Ramzan.

In the past, feasts have been organised at Ayodhya's famous Hanumangarhi temple.
