Bhandarwada ward of Pernem’s Paliem village has been cut-off for over 48 hours now due to flooding.

The students of the ward have however been risking life and limb in negotiating the flooded road to make it to school. Since their examinations are underway, the student said it was not possible for them to skip school.

The 200m stretch of road is waist deep underwater and is dangerous to cross during high tide, locals said.
