Barwani cop transferred 4 times in a week, routine says minister

BARWANI: SDO (police), Rakesh Vyas was transferred four times within a week and he is just one amongst numerous officers who are frequently being reshuffled within a short period of time. This has raised a question mark over the working of the present government.

When home minister Bala Bachchan was asked about the truth behind the frequent transfers at Barwani on Saturday evening, he termed it to be "just a routine procedure which every government follows".

He backed his department and the government, saying that this is nothing new and hit back by asking, "Don't you know that in 2003 when BJP came to power, they also did transfers in bulk."

He said that they were very careful and have reshuffled the officers with respect to necessity.

Responding to former CM, Shivraj Singh Chauhan's allegations of deliberate reshuffling of officers as 'Tabadla Udyog', he said that Chauhan is a free person now and he has no work left except criticising the Congress government. He said that Chauhan was targeting law and order situation of Madhya Pradesh but his ploy flopped after the involvement of BJP persons in every instance.

Vyas was transferred from Sendhwa (Barwani) to PHQ on February 9. He was then transferred to Bhind as CSP on February 13. Before he could settle, he was again transferred to PHQ on February 16. This wasn't enough as on the next day he was asked to join as SDOP Pohri (Shivpuri).

Similarly SDOP Petlawad (Jhabua), Stella Sulia was recently transferred to AJK Ujjain , then to women's cell, Ujjain. From there she was sent to Alot in Ratlam and finally on Saturday, transferred back to Petlawad.

Trilok Singh Tomar, who joined as SDOP Sendhwa on February 17 from Alirajpur, was transferred to Orchha ( Tikamgarh ) on February 27.

There are many officers in the department who have been transferred thrice, four times and even five times since the new government.
