Bhadohi blast accused held, explosives found

VARANASI: Kaliyar Mansoori, the main accused of February 23 blast in Bhadohi district which claimed 12 lives, was arrested by Bhadohi police on Wednesday along with explosives supplier Parasnath Agrahari of Sultanpur.

Producing them before reporters, ASP Bhadohi Sanjay Kumar said that the police nabbed Kaliyar and Agrahari from Jaunpur-Bhadohi border.

On their tip off, police also recovered chemicals and explosives powder, he said adding, further investigation in this case is in progress.

Illegal stocking of explosives in Kaliyar's house had claimed 12 lives, including of his two sons. Nine weavers from Malda district of West Bengal had also died in the blast.
