Bhavnagar police name rape survivor, minor accused in official statement

RAJKOT: Bhavnagar police “inadvertently” disclosed names of the gang rape survivor and the minor accused in an official statement issued on Friday evening.

As per law, identity of the rape survivor and minor accused cannot be disclosed. When contacted DySP SC-ST cell A M Saeed said, “It was a mistake committed by the local crime branch officials.

We immediately issued a new statement without taking the names of the survivor and the minor accused.”
