Bhupinder Singh Hooda's wife runs Rohtak 'war room' for assembly polls

ROHTAK: The house that was used as camp office when Bhupinder Singh Hooda was the chief minister has now been turned into resource-cum-war room for the assembly elections. The room is abuzz with activity, as a team from Delhi and locals rush about, handling the daily affairs of the election campaigning in 14 seats in Rohtak , Jhajjar and Sonipat districts, also known as Jat belt.

They also have the task of ensuring smooth and successful campaigning in Hooda’s home constituency, Garhi Sampla-Kiloi.

It is Hooda’s wife Asha who manages the scene here in the absence of her husband and son Deepender Hooda. The father-son duo are busy visiting parts of assembly constituencies in Rohtak district either to to seek votes or to mollify Congress supporters who had parted ways.

Under Asha’s supervision, the war room chalks out strategies as to how to proceed further. For instance, according to a senior member, it was only after the report of a survey conducted by the war room staff — which found out that voters of Garhi-Sampla Kiloi liked Deepender more than his father — that Deepender was tasked to run the campaign in 14 seats under old Rohtak.
