2019 and Previous Elections

Many people of Siwan observed that there are differences between the election this year and the once held in the past. Pointing to the issue of EVMs, one local resident said, “Previously, votes would go missing, now they go somewhere else altogether.”

Some also observed that the previous elections had been a lot more peaceful than the one this time. Many also pointed to the fact that this time around, politicians are only using the religious card to get votes.

Some locals also rued that RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav’s absence is being felt in the elections. Others were upset with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar joining hands with the BJP.
